Monzi has sub-tropical, lush and beautiful plant growth. The climate is typically tropical. The St Lucia area is well known for its animal life, fishing waters and its wetlands. Winter time offers some of the most spectacular game watching opportunities in South Africa. Did we mention that St Lucia is a world heritage site? It is one of the best places in the world to see wile Crocodiles, Hippos and sea Turtles.
On our estate, you will find the only tropical bird park in the immediate St Lucia area. The bird park features a range of rare and beautiful bird life.
Our Chalets offer country life-style type accommodation on a well kept estate with natural surroundings. The chalets are suitable for accommodating a family of four or a big tour group of 20. Please feel free to contact us to see if we can accommodate you. Each chalets us fully equip and is air-conditioned. We supply towels and bedding. The units are also serviced daily, except on Sundays. Most units have a television.
Monzi, is only 10 minutes drive from St Lucia central business centre and about 30 minutes drive from Richards Bay - allowing quick access to town, the beach or city. - Hippos and Crocodiles. These creatures roam the area wild and free. On almost any day, a trip down to the estuary will reward you with a sighting of one of the two. Crocs prefer laying in the sun where as the Hippos roam the streets at night, literally. This may sound dangerous but as it is with all wildlife, respect them and they will respect you.
- Fishing. St Lucia offers some the best fishing conditions in South Africa. Shore fishing is as popular here as deep sea fishing where you can expect to catch Marlin, Sailfish, Garrick, Snoek, Dorado, Tuna in the summer months and Muscle Cracker, Yellow Belly Roc Cod, Geelbek, Soldier and even Red Roman.
- Fun in the Sun, The weather is tropical. This means warm days and warm nights. No need for a shirt here! The beaches and waters are clean and clear in season. Perfect for a family day of sand castles, kites and sun bathing.
